Visit https://www.facebook.com/southarundeltourism/ for more details, updates, calendar etc about Southern Anne Arundel County.
Galesville, an early center of Quaker settlement that was visited by William Penn, is considered to be one of the oldest English settlements in America. Throughout colonial times the landing probably consisted of a wharf together with a warehouse or two and possibly a store or blacksmith shop. Until 1936, it was a regular port of call for the steamship Emma Giles that also called on Annapolis and Baltimore.
Visitors can stroll the waterfront with its two restaurants and Main Street with its antique shop and art gallery, or visit the two local museums. There is also a playground and athletic fields on the edge of town. Please see the links we have provided and plan your special day–sailing and sightseeing.
