Thank you for reading the below so you will understand our policies and be able to easily make a reservation payment.
A fifty percent deposit is required to schedule your sailing trip. Of course you may pay 100% in advance or the remainder by Paypal at least three days prior to the trip. At this time we do not accept credit cards but we do accept Paypal under account Non Sea Quitter LLC with the email firstname.lastname@example.org Please note: you must add on an additional three percent to the net payment.
If you prefer, you may pay remaining funds in cash upon boarding. An ATM is located next door to the marina in Pirates Cove Restaurant. Price is based on the trip duration and whether this is for a Monday through Thursday or a Friday through Sunday/holiday. Guests are asked to arrive at the boat 15 minutes in advance of departure time so we can get underway as scheduled. If guests arrive late, that time may be forfeited and we will at our discretion either return to the dock at the scheduled termination time or provide a “grace” period.
*PAYMENT may be made in check if received at least 7 calendar days in advance. Please contact us for our home address.
All sailing trip fees are subject to 10% county admissions/amusements tax
A word about weather…..It is extremely rare that a scheduled trip is ever cancelled due to weather but it is of course a concern for those who are planning an outdoor activity. We watch the forecasts constantly and use a radar app in advance and while onboard to track the movement of storms. Guests are advised not to place too much emphasis or concern on a weather forecast, especially if more than 2-3 days in advance of the planned trip. In general, the threat of thunderstorms exist every warm weather afternoon between about 3 pm and 8 pm on the Chesapeake so it is not at all unusual, nor should it cause any undue concern to see the rain or even thunderstorms forecasted. These storms are generally tracked well in advance, give some warning of their approach, and usually pass through quickly. However, they are often localized and not always part of a larger system that may be more easily or accurately forecasted. They are generally not dangerous if precautions are taken and guests will be safe if they follow the captain’s instructions and may go below in the cabin during such a storm.
Non Sea Quitter LLC reserves the right to cancel a reserved trip in unusual cases, for example, severe weather such as officially posted small craft warnings or the imminent approach of a storm or other weather event that would make it dangerous to go sailing. This does not include cloud cover, rain or threat of rain, heat or UV exposure or other similar conditions. If a trip is cancelled, which is extremely rare, the trip will be rescheduled (“rain check”) within the remaining season of the calendar year, or if after Labor Day, the option for the following season is offered.
* If the charter guests are from more than 150 miles away (as determined by Google maps or similar program) or will soon be leaving the area and requests a refund rather than a reschedule, Non Sea Quitter LLC may at its discretion reserve the right to withhold up to a 25% administrative fee or a minimum $100 from the deposit.
* If you must reschedule……Please understand that as with any such outdoor or in particular, a boating operation, our season is limited, highly cyclical and that warm weather weekends are prime time. We will make every effort possible to work with you or reschedule but ask that you understand that if we hold a sailing time for you, we have lost that opportunity to resell that period. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that we can honor your request. Any requested rescheduling may be subject to a $100 administrative fee.
* We will cancel and offer a full refund to you in the following situations:
In the event that a mechanical or other such failure on the boat makes it dangerous or impossible to sail.
If we are not able to be available to operate the boat and no other licensed personnel can be retained in time
If for any reason we are unable to perform our normal duties to provide you with a sailing experience.
